Can I Go From Bottles To Peanut Butter and Jelly?

I hate baby food.
I don't mind the smell or texture, I even like picking new kinds.
I hate the mess it makes. On my son, his chair, his bib, me, and the inevitable 5 rags I use in 1 feeding. Cooper started to blow raspberries this week, and since I started gasping each time he did it during a meal, it's his new game.
I will not be a happy camper until this mess is over.
(Note the missing picture of baby with big mess all over his face...
it never gets that far, I can't stand it)

I don't even have anything to say - I'm to busy laughing. I can just see you with your exasperated look that you get. It's a blast eh? Wait till he figure out that his spoon full of milk and cheerios can also double as a slingshot. . .

So it sounds like you are a neat freak! That's okay. I hate the mess too and hated it back when Dom was younger. Here is some advise: Take off his clothes during feedings, don't clean up until he's all done, make sure you have plenty of wipes ready or a bath wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately the mess in inevitable and especially since he's learing to do rasberries! LOL. I've been where you are. Enjoy it while it lasts!
Hope my advice helps.

It doesn't get better for quite a while. :( I hate this stage when it comes to eating - whether you're feeding them or they're feeding themselves it's such a MESS! They're hands, face, clothes, hair, ears. The chair, spoon, floor. Just wait 'til he starts to grab the spoon or becomes facinated with droppinng things on the floor. It makes my stomach hurt just typing this. I feel your pain!!!

And this, my sweets, is the reason NONE of you were allowed to feed yourselves until you started kindergarten!! OCD, anyone?? Love, mom
